EduIgnite Sparks Inspiration

Wow! On Tuesday 26 May we had 50, yes 50!, dedicated Wellington teachers visit The Mind Lab in Petone to connect, learn and share. The evening was hugely successful: wine, cheese, amazing speakers, funky learning environment, and inspiration enjoyed by all.

Many thanks to The Mind Lab team for hosting us, the WellyED team for organising us, and thanks especially to the wonderful educators who spoke on the evening itself. Many attendees commented on the variety of talks which sparked ideas for further exploration.

Philippa Nicoll Antipas started the evening by recapping how far WellyED as an organisation has come, and pitching an idea for a new event – a showcase of Wellington learners’ experiences from across the city. See her presentation below. She’s very keen to connect with more educators who might be interested in making this happen. Let’s see if we can’t involve the students themselves (isn’t that actually what we’re all about?), attract parents, and spark conversation about what future-focused education is actually about. Tweet her @AKeenReader, or email her: philippanicoll@hotmail.com.

We’re hoping to be able to showcase the other talks given on the night. Keep checking here, or on Twitter @Welly_ED, for more.
